Bike Repairs & Services On the MAIN LINE

Quicker service, expert repairs

At Main Line Cycles, service starts with a conversation. Bring your bike in, tell us what you’re noticing, and we’ll take a look. From there, we’ll recommend the right level of work, explain the options clearly, and give you an estimate before we begin

How service works

For quick tune-ups or full resets, we’ll help you understand your bike's needs.

Our goal is simple: a bike that feels better, rides safely, and makes sense for how you actually use it.

01

Bring us the bike

You don’t need to diagnose the problem before you arrive. If something feels off, sounds weird, shifts poorly, brakes poorly, or just hasn’t been looked at in a while, bring it in.

02

We inspect it with you

We’ll check the major systems: brakes, shifting, wheels, tires, drivetrain, bearings, frame, and contact points. We’ll also ask how you ride, because every type of bike has different needs.

03

We recommend the right path for you

Some bikes only need a small fix. Some need parts, cleaning, or deeper service. We’ll explain what we see and help you decide what makes sense.

04

You approve the estimate

We’ll provide an estimate before beginning work. If we find anything unexpected once the bike is in the stand, we’ll contact you before adding work.

05

We get it riding right

Once the work is complete, we’ll test the bike, make final adjustments, and let you know it’s ready.

Service Packages

Our tune-up packages are starting points. Every bike is a little different, and we’ll help match the service to the bike.

Basic Tune-Up

You don’t need to diagnose the problem before you arrive. If something feels off, sounds weird, shifts poorly, brakes poorly, or just hasn’t been looked at in a while, bring it in.

Included in your Basic Tune-Up:

  • Safety inspection
  • Tire pressure and condition check
  • Headset, hub, and bottom bracket check
  • Brake adjustment
  • Chain wear check
  • Chain lubrication
  • Shifting adjustment
  • Bolt check
  • Test ride
Good for:
lightly used bikes, newer bikes, kids’ bikes, bikes that mostly need adjustment, or riders who want peace of mind before getting back out there.

Standard Tune-Up

Our most common service package. Best for bikes that have seen regular use and need more thorough adjustment, cleaning, and attention.

Includes everything in the Basic tune-up, plus:

  • More detailed brake and shifting setup
  • Bearing system assessment
  • Wheel inspection and truing
  • More comprehensive test ride and final adjustment
  • Cleaning of key working areas
  • Drivetrain inspection and functional cleaning
Good for:
seasonal service, regular riders, commuters, fitness bikes, road bikes, hybrids, and bikes that feel a little
rough but do not need a full overhaul.

Overhaul / Major Service

For bikes that need extensive labor, frame-up attention, or a major rebuild.

This level of service may include deeper cleaning, bearing service, cable and housing replacement, hydraulic brake work, drivetrain replacement, wheel work, or major component installation. Because the scope can vary widely, overhaul-level work is estimate-based.

Good for:
high-mileage bikes, performance bikes, older bikes worth preserving, neglected bikes, custom builds, and bikes where multiple systems need to be brought back at once.

Small Repairs & Walk-In Service

Not every bike needs a full tune-up. We handle small repairs whenever we can, and many minor jobs can be completed same day depending on workload and parts availability.

‍Common small repairs include:

  • Flat tire repair
  • Brake adjustment
  • Cassette installation
  • Tubeless sealant refresh
  • Safety checks
  • Tire replacement
  • Shifting adjustment
  • Pedal installation
  • Handlebar tape installation
  • Tube replacement
  • Chain installation
  • Accessory installation
  • Minor noise diagnosis

If you’re not sure whether something is small or more involved, bring it in and we’ll take a look.

Road, Gravel, Mountain & Performance Bikes

Modern bikes can be wonderfully precise, but they also need the right tools and attention. We regularly work on hydraulic disc brakes, tubeless systems, electronic shifting, carbon components, suspension, and performance drivetrains.

Common performance services include:

  • Hydraulic brake bleeds
  • Tubeless setup and maintenance
  • Cockpit adjustments
  • Electronic shifting setup
  • Drivetrain replacement
  • Pre-event checks
  • Di2 / AXS troubleshooting
  • Wheel and tire upgrades
  • Custom builds and major component swaps

For more involved work, we’ll inspect the bike and provide a clear estimate before beginning.

Parts, Labor & Estimates

Tune-up pricing covers labor for the listed service. Replacement parts are additional unless specifically noted.

Common replacement parts may include:

  • Chains
  • Tires
  • Bar tape
  • Grips
  • Tubes
  • Sealant
  • Bearings
  • Brake pads
  • Cables and housing
  • Rotors

We’ll review recommended parts and pricing with you before moving forward.

Turnaround time depends on the season, the scope of work, and parts availability.

We’ll give you an estimated timeline when the bike is checked in.

Frequently asked questions

No appointment is required to bring your bike in. You’re welcome to stop by during shop hours and we’ll take a look.

For tune-ups and more involved repairs, we’ll check the bike in, talk through what it needs, and give you an estimated timeline before we get started. Booking ahead can help if you’re trying to plan around a specific ride, trip, or deadline.

Yes. For many common issues, walking in is the best place to start.

Some smaller services may be handled while you wait or same-day, depending on the repair and how busy the shop is. Bigger jobs usually need to be checked in and scheduled. Either way, you can bring the bike by and we’ll help you figure out the next step.

It depends on what your bike needs.

We offer different levels of service because not every bike needs the same amount of work. A bike that just needs adjustment and lubrication is very different from one that needs new cables, brake pads, tires, drivetrain parts, or more involved troubleshooting.

When you bring the bike in, we’ll inspect it, explain what we’re seeing, and recommend the right level of service before doing the work.

That’s completely fine. Most people don’t.

You don’t need to diagnose the bike before bringing it in. Tell us what you’re noticing — noises, shifting issues, brake problems, flat tires, weird handling, or just “it hasn’t been ridden in a while” — and we’ll take it from there.

Our job is to help you understand what matters, what can wait, and what needs attention now.

Turnaround depends on the season, the repair, parts availability, and our current service queue.Simple repairs may be completed quickly, sometimes same-day. Tune-ups and larger repairs usually take longer. When you drop the bike off, we’ll give you our best estimate and keep you posted if anything changes.

If you have a ride, race, trip, or commute deadline coming up, tell us when you check in and we’ll do our best to work with it.

Yes, we service many e-bikes.

We regularly work on mechanical bicycle service for e-bikes, including brakes, tires, wheels, drivetrains, accessories, and general adjustments. For electrical or motor-system issues, what we can do depends on the brand, system, and parts/support availability.

We service Specialized e-bikes, Velotric e-bikes, Aventon e-bikes, X-LAB e-bikes, and many other reputable e-bike systems. If you’re unsure whether we can work on your e-bike, bring it by or contact us with the brand and model.

Yes. We’re happy to service bikes whether you bought them from us or somewhere else.

That includes bikes purchased online, from another shop, secondhand, or bikes that have been sitting in the garage for years. We’ll look it over, explain what it needs, and help you decide what makes sense.

We stand behind our work.

If something doesn’t feel right after a repair or tune-up, please let us know. Bikes can settle in after service, especially with new cables, brake pads, drivetrain parts, or wheel work. We want the bike working properly and we want you to feel good riding it.
